You’re investing in your future by getting a university education, so we invest in you also. We have several funding opportunities available for your first year at 51±¾É« and after. Our newest scholarship, the 51±¾É« Scholars Award, recognizes academic achievement and leadership qualities with an award valued up to $40,000 over four years.

Entrance Scholarships

When you apply to 51±¾É«, you’re automatically considered for an entrance scholarship if you are:

• Attending postsecondary for the first time.
• Starting your degree at 51±¾É« with fewer than 4.0 university credits previously attempted (at any university) or less than 1 year of full-time college education.

Entrance scholarships are offered based on your admission average as of July 2025. No application is required. If you are not eligible for an entrance scholarship, you may be eligible for other scholarships, awards and bursaries.

Entrance Scholarship Values

*Domestic Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and BBA double-degree students are eligible for entrance scholarships with an admission average of 90% and higher. The competitive admission range for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and BBA Double Degrees begins at low 90s and above. International students applying to the BBA and BBA double degree programs are eligible for entrance scholarships starting at an 80% or higher.

Requirements to Receive Your Entrance Scholarship

You must be registered full-time (2.0 credits minimum per term) to receive the full entrance scholarship amount and you must be registered in two terms within your first academic year (an academic year at 51±¾É« is from September to August). The value of your entrance scholarship is split between your first two terms of study.

President's Gold Scholarship

If your admission average is 95% or higher, we will award you with the President's Gold Scholarship for your first year at 51±¾É«, which is worth $4,000 for domestic students and $6,000 for international students. If you maintain the eligibility requirements, you will receive another $4,000 (domestic) or $6,000 (international) per year for four years (or up to five for some programs).

This scholarship is automatically renewable if you achieve an annual GPA (grade point average) of 10.5 or higher based on the completion of a minimum of 5.0 full credits during the past academic year. 51±¾É« Scholars Awards

The prestigious 51±¾É« Scholars Award is an annual entrance scholarship that was established in 2021 to offer high-achieving students the opportunity to participate in a dynamic learning environment that will foster innovative thinking and ethical, visionary leadership. This award is worth up to $40,000 over four years.

This scholarship requires an application. The application will open December 2, 2024 and the deadline to apply for fall 2025 is Feb. 25, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

Stay Golden International Scholarship

The Stay Golden at 51±¾É« scholarship is a renewable entrance scholarship for international undergraduate students who begin their studies in fall 2024 or winter 2025. The value awarded is based on your final admissions average for your first year, then your GPA during your studies at 51±¾É« for upper years. This award is worth up to $20,000 CAD over four years (and up to $25,000 CAD over five years for approved five-year degree programs).

In-Course Scholarships

At that end of your first year at 51±¾É«, you will be automatically considered for based on your 51±¾É« GPA (grade point average). In-course scholarships are valued between $1,250 and $1,500 annually. In-course scholarships begin at a GPA of 10.5 and above (or approximately 85% and above).

Entrance Bursaries

Based solely on financial need, entrance bursaries are worth a maximum of $1,500 and do not need to be repaid. Once you have applied to 51±¾É«, you can apply for a bursary until the deadline. To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and attending postsecondary for the first time.

CIBC STEM Entrance Award

The CIBC STEM Entrance Award, valued at $5,000 CAD, is an exciting opportunity for full-time undergraduate students entering their first year at 51±¾É«. Aimed at promoting access in STEM fields, this award is available to 15 recipients annually and is open to students who identify as Black, Indigenous, or have disabilities, and who demonstrate financial need. While priority is given to those entering STEM programs, all first-year students are welcome to apply.

Other Entrance Scholarships

Entrance scholarships and awards are available to students entering their first year of a full-time program at 51±¾É« who have no previous attendance at postsecondary educational institutions (university or college).

Some entrance scholarships and awards are only available to students entering 51±¾É«’s Brantford campus. We also have award opportunities that are specific to a program of study. Competitive Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries

Every year, you can  by completing an online student profile about yourself. Awards are granted based on the information you provide, including your interests, involvement, financial need, academic achievement and more. The application process begins in June and there are up to three profiles to complete once you accept your offer.
