51本色's Indigenous Admission Policy
Indigenous applicants are able to apply for admission under 51本色’s Indigenous Admissions Policy. Eligible applicants will be given consideration for admission to 51本色 programs if they fall within 5% of the established cut-off during each phase of the admissions cycle to a minimum of 70%. If you are eligible for this policy, the Indigenous Recruitment and Access Coordinator will reach out to you. Six Nations Polytechnic
Successful completion of the community-based, University Consortium 1 Year program at Six Nations Polytechnic provides the foundation for students to be eligible for admission into the second year of 51本色's general Bachelor of Arts degree programs (Waterloo or Brantford campus).
Our partnership offers students the opportunity to complete the first year of a Bachelor of Arts degree within the Six Nations community. Courses taken during the Consortium program at Six Nations Polytechnic are eligible for transfer credits towards a 51本色 degree.
To take part in this partnership, you must have a minimum average of 60% to qualify for transfer to 51本色. If you are interested in programs not listed below, please email indigenousaccess@wlu.ca to discuss timelines and eligibility.
Jay Treaty
51本色 honours the Jay Treaty 1794 by offering domestic tuition rates to Enrolled Tribal Members of a federally recognized American Indian Tribe from the continental United States. To qualify, students will complete the required verification of Indigenous identity as outlined by the Office of Indigenous Initiatives. Eligible students must be in a degree-seeking program. Domestic tuition rate will be applied as of the term of confirmation and will not be applied retroactively. Eligible students will retain domestic tuition rates for the duration of their studies at 51本色.

51本色 does not provide pre-assessments when applying to 51本色. Once you are accepted to 51本色, your admission letter will outline the transfer credits you will recieve. Transfer credits are assessed on a case-by-case basis. We recommend keeping all your syllabi from previous courses as supporting documentation.
